【太平洋戦争の過程で、１９４２年１月に日本軍がオランダ領東インドへの侵攻を開始、オランダ軍を降伏させ、占領した。日本はジャワとスマトラを分離して統治した。

During the Pacific War, in January 1942, Japanese troops began their invasion of Dutch East India, surrendering and capturing Dutch troops. Japan ruled separately from Java and Sumatra.

在太平洋戰爭過程中, 1942年1月, 日本軍隊開始入侵荷蘭東部印度, 投降並佔領了荷蘭軍隊。 日本將爪哇同蘇門答臘分開統治。

　日本軍が南進策をとり、フランス領インドシナを制圧し、さらに南下してオランダ領東インドであるインドネシアの島々を支配下に納めようとしたのは、アメリカが対日石油輸出を禁止し、石油資源の不足が問題となったからであった。

The reason why the Japanese army took the south-forward plan, conquered the French Indochina, and tried to put the islands of Indonesia which is Dutch East India further south under control was that the United States banned the export of oil to Japan, and the lack of oil resources became a problem.

日軍採取南向措施, 控制法屬印度支那, 進一步向南控制, 將荷蘭東部印度省印度尼西亞嘅島嶼置於控制之下, 原因係美國禁止對日石油出口, 石油資源短缺成為問題。

そのような意図から、太平洋戦争の開始に伴い、日本軍はのオランダ領東インド攻略作戦を開始しインドネシアに侵攻した。 　

With such an intention, with the start of the Pacific War, the Japanese army launched the Dutch East India strategy and invaded Indonesia.

出於這種意圖, 隨著太平洋戰爭的開始, 日本軍隊發動了荷屬東印度攻勢, 並入侵了印度尼西亞。

まず、１９４２年１月のタラカン島とスラウェシ島への上陸作戦から始まり、２月にはスマトラのパレンバンに落下傘部隊を降下させ、占領した。

It began with landings on Tarakan and Sulawesi in January 1942, and in February it descended paratroopers into Palembang, Sumatra, and occupied them.
